THE GELATO STRAIN PROFILE

The mostly indica strain Gelato, often called Gelato 33 or Larry Bird, is the result of combining Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. Legendary breeders Jai Chang, better known as Jigga, and Mario Guzman, better known as Mr. Sherbinskis (founder of Sunset Sherbert), bred it. These two breeders are original members of the well-known Cookie Family of the Bay Area. 

The dark purple blooms of Gelato are adorned with a dense layer of milky white trichomes and long orange hairs. This strain can be quite tasty and strong due to its high trichome density. This is due to the fact that the trichome oils contain many compounds, including terpenes and cannabinoids. The grade of a cannabis flower increases with the number of trichomes.
